Picture this.
I have a 4 month old baby boy at home and I am reading a Parents magazine sitting on the floor of 'the cutest nursery on the block' -so did people say!- and I find this little article that says something like: "how to get some extra cash?" and one of the personal stories was about this mommy that had painted a mural for her friend's baby nursery. The mural had such great reviews that she decided to write a blog about it and share her designs with the world. Today she has a successful business painting murals for nurseries. I said to myself: "If she can do it, I can do it" and that's how this blog started.
But I didn't know... Scratch that! There are so many things that you don't know they even exist until you become a mother and you start "google-ing" this and that. So, I found out that there are thousands, millions of mothers blogging in this world...and within that million, on February of this year I found one special mommy blogger. Her name is Lexie.
Lexie wrote this heartfelt blog post about how difficult her days were with her newborn but how nothing could get in the way of her absolute joy and love she felt for her little boy....she had 3 comments and for the first time EVER in my life I decided to leave a comment for someone. I felt so connected with this young girl, after all I had a little boy myself and I was going thru difficult days too.
Don't ask me how, but we "really" connected and she replied back saying something like (not exact words!) "...I promised I will put a badge for my first ten visitors, so give me your link and your button and I will feature it on my blog"... But I did not have a button! How do you even make a button?...And without asking for it, she email me again and said "Flavia, I made this button, I took an image from your blog, I hope you like it"...Are you kidding me? This girl is awesome! I have a button!
Long story short ( it's getting too long already!...lol), Lexie invited me to join
"voiceBoks" a mother's community that she was just starting. I went, I signed up and since that day till today, I haven't even worried about checking out any other online community.
Voiceboks is... not your average mom's community. Voiceboks is a family. We have been together through so many ups and downs...Lexie has 'revamped' her community at least three times to make it better and better and I have nothing to say but THANK YOU Voiceboks - and Lexie for that matter- because thanks to you I have built my followers list (real followers!), I have gained so much traffic on my blog, I have found so much support and advice for this great journey called motherhood and most important of all I have made great friendships.
I am sure that many of you that are reading this post are my followers and readers thanks to Voiceboks itself but, if you have never heard or visited Voiceboks, I invite you to do so, join and
check out this wonderful family. There is nothing I can say in this post that will compare to what you would find at their site. So go ahead! You are one click away!
Thank you to all my dear Voiceboks friends for being so kind and supportive. Together we have made Lexie proud and we are all very proud of her!
Love to all,
